Welcome to Eclipse2024.org’s official blog page!   Over the next few months (as we approach eclipse day), we’ll be posting about all things eclipse-related.  Your author is Dan McGlaun, a veteran eclipse chaser with 13 total eclipses under his belt.  All topics will be fair game:  What causes eclipses, what you’ll see, where you need to be, what you need to have with you, eclipse news and events we learn about, just everything!

And if you need answers to your eclipse questions, you can head over to our FAQ page and post them!  Dan will be responding to these, to create a searchable eclipse knowledge base for everyone to use.  (If you have a question, there’s a good chance a lot of other people do, too!  So don’t be afraid to ask.)

A lot of brand new eclipse chasers were created on August 21, 2017 – the last time totality passed over the North American continent! And now, just less than 7 years later, we all have another opportunity to see totality right in our back yards!  The next “big” North American total eclipse isn’t until 2045, so don’t be left out this time!  Make your plans to get into the path today!

For 2024, we’ve expanded on some of the more popular features from our eclipse2017.org site.  First, EVERY CITY in North America now has a community page!  These are pages where we’ve collected eclipse-day viewing plans from all the official groups (who can post them here FREE of any charge!), to help you decide where you’d like to go on eclipse day.

Of course, you’ll be able to get ISO-certified eclipse glasses from us as well.  If you get your eclipse glasses from us, you won’t have any of the disappointment that many people ended up with in 2017.

And something we’re most excited about:  We’ve developed the amazing Eclipse2024.org eclipse simulator, to show you exactly what the eclipse will look like from any place in North America.  Check it out!

We tried hard to make sure Eclipse2024.org is ready to give YOU all the information you need to enjoy the total eclipse safely! We’ll see YOU… in the shadow!

Clear Skies,

Dan McGlaun
